Nnamdi Azikiwe University

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, known as UNIZIK, is a Nigerian federal university founded in 1991 in Awka, Anambra State, and named in honour of Nigeria’s first President, Nnamdi Azikiwe. It was created from the former Anambra State University of Technology and later taken over by the Federal Government, which gave it national reach and institutional scale.

UNIZIK serves a large student population from the South-East and beyond, reflecting the strong demand for federal university placement in a region where educational capacity has often lagged behind need.
