About
Ntel Nigeria was established in 2015 following the acquisition of NiTel and M-Tel – the remnants of the formerly government-owned telecommunications monopoly NITEL – by a consortium that included NIGCOMSAT and other Nigerian investors. The company holds 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 2100MHz spectrum allocations that were inherited from the NiTel estate, giving it a frequency position in Nigerian mobile telephony that would be extraordinarily expensive to assemble through market acquisition today. Its operational focus has been on 4G LTE data services in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Kano, targeting the mobile broadband market rather than competing in voice where MTN, Airtel, and Glo have structural advantages. Ntel’s inherited spectrum position makes it a strategically significant entity in Nigerian telecommunications regardless of its current subscriber scale.
To deliver innovative telecommunications services that connect Nigerians to opportunities.
